Resident camp is held near Marlow at Camp E-Ko-Wah, about 1.5 hours south of Oklahoma City. There are five weeks of overnight camp, each with their own themed sessions! Resident Camps give girls the opportunity to develop confidence and independence as they are guided through countless skill-building and character-building activities and events. Traditional Resident Camp is offered for girls in grades 2-12, depending on the week.
Girl Scouts Western Oklahoma is proud to be applying for accreditation at Camp E-Ko-Wah during the 2023 season by the American Camp Association. ACA accreditation means that we undergo a thorough review of operation and procedures ranging from staff qualifications and training to emergency management. The American Camp Association sets camps up for success and provides us with the most up-to-date, research-based standards in camp operation.
Is Your Girl Ready For Overnight Camp?
Traditional Overnight: Typically 3-5 nights/4-6 days, these camps are often based off a specific theme for the week. Girls will have the opportunity to do a wide variety of traditional camp activities: swimming, archery, canoeing, campfires and so on.
Horse Camp Overnight: Typically 3-5 nights/4-6 days, these camps are scheduled with horse-lovers in mind. The main focus of these camps is horse-related activities and skill-based learning and experiences. Girls will still do some traditional camp activities.
Leadership Overnight: Progression based, leadership camps are for girls who have attended 6-day sessions at Camp E-Ko-Wah before and left wanting more! Girls will learn about leadership and practice planning, running and debriefing activities with younger Girl Scouts. Available only for girls entering grades 6-12 in the Fall of the current membership year.
